Anime Review: The Magnificent Kotobuki

I did a quick review of the Anime The Magnificent Kotobuki which is both by the numbers and yet has enough of a unique premise to at least be worth watching.

The show follows an all female (of course) group of mercenary fighter pilots in a strange alternate world that gives off some very pulpish vibes.

But the real stars of the show are the historical Japanese WWII era planes that are used in this setting and which result in plenty of exciting dogfights and action scenes.

All and all it’s a strange odd little show that is quite fun and especially satisfying to warnerds and WW II buffs. One catch however is that the Allied reporting names of the Japanese aircraft are not used and you’ll have to refresh your memory on the original Japanese designations.

Brown Dwarves

An interesting space video that might interest some of you.

Squeaker War thoughts:

Hmm a pair of brown dwarves about eight light years from Sol would be a great place for the Jubi to be building a secret naval base.

Especially since our cute fuzzy alien ‘friends’ tend to ignore planets and instead build space colonies around red and brown dwarves ‘where no one would think to look for them.’

or there could be a faint brown dwarf even closer to Sol that we haven’t spotted yet.
