Still Sperging About Milkshakes
Well it looks like this thing is not going away as just recently a flood of “Geeks are Bad” articles started popping up in pretentious Fake Geek Media sites nobody actually reads. What does this mean? It means that Marvel went ahead and hired a PR firm in order to damage control. Milkshake Madness continues but it’s not really fooling anyone.
Seeing a lot of new faces around these parts. That’s good. Also I see some of you brought flamethrowers. At least somebody’s been thinking ahead.
Welcome to The War For the Heart of Geekdom. Where while we might not be able to control the ‘Tism we can damn well ride it into battle.
Newcomers? Well what’s the first step?
You need to begin ACTIVELY LOOKING FOR ALTERNATIVES to the thing you once liked that used to be good. This will take a lot of effort so you need to start doing it now.
Since the new guys are mostly Comicbros the Patriotika Kickstarter is probably the first thing we should bring up. Even it’s too late to contribute, this is a good example of the sort of thing you need to be actively looking for. You don’t have to support every project but make sure you are actively search for independent un-pozzed media. Step two is spreading the word when you do find something promising. Even if you don’t like something your homies might. How are they supposed to find out about all this cool shit if you don’t tell them about it?
Patriotika [10 mins]
And it’s immediately apparent that there are at least two very good reasons to support this comic.
Or this thing. This is a thing. Is it your thing? Only you can make that decision. Not your thing? Well find other things. If you don’t like a thing, just keep moving on to the next thing. If you look hard enough you will find your thing. Go now and find your things. Things are there to be found.
and it doesn’t hurt to branch out a little here and there. You do realize that a huge number of the old pulp magazines have been archived and put up online, right? That #Pulprev thing is happening for a reason.
The Pulp Magazine project
So go read something from the 1930’s.
Back when men were men and not only would a woman actually make you a sandwich she would travel great distances; punching bears and tigers along the way in order to bring you that very same sandwich.
You wanna make comics great again? 1930’s style pulp stories told by 1990’s style art is probably the winning combination. Even normies would be all over that shit.
The point I’m trying to make here that we’re big boys now and we don’t need no mouse to entertain us. Yes it will take a lot of work to get anything worthwhile done… but look at it this way. If you were a whiny crybaby bitch you’d still be on the other team, wouldn’t you? We got this bro. We just need to put in the asschairhours. Welcome to the Cult of Life. It’s time to face down the Cults of Death.
“But Rome wasn’t built in a day.” you sperg.
“Yes but Rome was built in the first place.” I sperg back. “We know that it can done because it done before therefore we can do it again. Why let mere difficultly deter us from a righteous cause?”
Anyway enough ranting, down to business.
Indie Author Jon Del Arroz gives his take on Marvel Milkshake Madness
Yes he has a steampunk novel out. Complete with airships.
Yes the main character is named Zaira von Monocle.
That’s just how we roll in these parts. Did you come here to have fun or not?
No Escapism Allowed.
Speaking about having fun. It’s not what SJW Marvel has in mind.
DAMN YOU POE’S LAW!!! [10 mins]
Either way this video is dangerous to your sides. So put your drink down before you watch. Unless you have a spare keyboard handy and want to live dangerously.
Diversity and Comics [16 mins]
A lot of rambling about one of his ongoing projects in this one but there’s still a couple key points worth mentioning.
-Secret Empire is failing so hard that Marvel should be in crisis mode.
-The “milkshake gambit” was a tactic to make the fake geek girls assistant editors unfireable.
Quick Note: Fake Geek Girl is less of a lifestyle and more of a dating strategy. Usually a very successful one but that’s another topic for another day.
Captain Cummings on the imminent failure of Marvel Generations [12 mins]
Not only that but Marvel is engaging in fake accounting when it comes to their sales numbers and unfairly dumping the load on comic retailers.
Yes and apparently Games Workshop is pulling the same kind of shit.
So anyway that’s all I got for tonight. I’ll leave you with one final question. Who would you rather be?
or this guy?
That’s a #pulprev story right there.
#AltGeek the choice is yours. Choose wisely for you have only last fuck to give.
Social media??? I have no idea why anybody would want to follow me but I’m getting a lot of followers on Gab for some reason. I am slow to follow back but if you talk to me enough times I’ll eventually get curious.
Twitter: Warning! Drunk twitter rants may occur at any time.
I do try to keep politics off of Twitter, unfortunately shit keeps pissing me off and I’m under no obligation to keep things professional.
Gab: GET YOUR ASS TO GAB even if it’s just a placeholder account. Froglife is best life.
And yes Gab is 90% politics if you don’t like it talk about something else, anything else. If you don’t like the AltRight guys DON’T FUCKING FOLLOW THEM. Personally I like to keep an eye on what the really hardline motherfuckers are saying but that’s my choice.
Nerdstuff —> Twitter Politics —> Gab
I think that’s a reasonable policy so we’ll try that for a while.
and that’s about it. This shitty blog is kind of my main thing.
